The La Jaes Story

It all started with a simple cake recipe. Once people tried it, the news began to spread through word of mouth and La Jaes Catering was born in 1995. People then started ordering other items for parties and other special occasions and La Jaes expanded further.

La Jaes Catering Inc. was founded by Linda L. Felo and Lee Ester Jackson and was incorporated in 2002. In November 2006, LaJaes Catering Inc. was reorganized and Felo became sole owner of the company.

LaJaes Restaurant and Catering at its present location, provides home-style take out meals, a large variety of homemade cakes, pies and baked products, and catering services for all occasions.

Owner's Information

Linda L. Felo is the Corporative Executive of La Jaes Catering Inc., also known as La Jaes Restaurant and Catering.

At the age of 19 in 1969, Mrs. Felo began her career as a foodservice technician for Orleans Parish School Board.

In December 1973, between juggling responsibilities of working a full-time job and raising a family, Felo attended night school acquiring a GED.

In 1977 Felo became a certified cafeteria manager.

In 1983 Felo received an Associate Degree in Institutional Management from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.

In January 2006, Felo retired with 36 years of service in foodservice during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. This is the point when she took over sole ownership of La Jaes Restaurant and Catering.

With the support and encouragement of her husband Nathaniel of forty two years, Linda Felo has gone from a simple cake recipe to a full service restaurant and catering service.
